Artist database provides a global overview of contemporary skill-based visual art.
It shows the cultural identity of each of the more than 200 different nations and (semi)independent regions on earth.
Because it reveals the many different backgrounds and traditions that give a country its autonomous cultural significance. Thus, it portrays the artistic level in visual arts of every country in the world.
Qualitative criteria for skill-based art are:
- intrinsic values (the meaning of the work);
- the formal-technical skills (the knowhow and ability with which the work has been made);
- distinctive merits (special skills, originality or otherwise remarkable qualities).
Focus points are the 'classical' visual arts: drawing and painting, graphic techniques and sculpture.

Nominate Artist
Nominations of artists can be made by filling in and sending the nomination form.
Balloting is done by the Classical Art Center foundation.
A confirmation of receipt will then be sent, but unfortunately it is not possible to give further reasons or motivation why a nomination will or will not be accepted.
This is only evident from a publication on the site.
Listing on the Artist database is free of charge. we only charge € 15 administration costs for entering a link to personal website.
When you fill in a website on the application form, we understand that placement is desired and will send you an invoice. This can also be done when a placement has already taken place.
